Felicity Kendal flaunts ageless beauty four decades after The Good Life

Felicity Kendal looks fabulous as she takes to the famous Graham Norton Show sofa tonight wearing a stylish black suit.

The 74-year-old actress is best known for starring in The Good Life, which aired 35 years ago.

She makes a rare television appearance on the BBC show to discuss her time on the popular vintage show.

Flaunting her youthful appearance four decades after The Good Life, Felicity tells Graham that she loved acting drunk when she played Barbara on the iconic sitcom.

She refers to her screen husband Tom, played by Richard Briers, and their neighbours, Penelope Keith's Margo and Paul Eddington's Jerry, as she shares stories from her time on the show.

She says: "I love acting p****d and we thought it would be very funny if we became as drunk as Jerry and Tom.

"The head of the BBC said Barbara and Margot can't get drunk because they are so loved by the audience.

"We fought really hard to do it and eventually we did that scene. It's interesting to see how far we've come – now everyone is p****d."

The Good Life first aired in 1975 and stars Felicity and Richard Briers as a couple who are determined to live an entirely self-sufficiently in their garden in Surbiton, London.

Their way of life leaves their traditionalist neighbours, Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, horrified in the hilarious comedy series.

Fans will see Felicity appear on The Graham Norton Show tonight alongside Foo Fighters legend Dave Grohl, Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page, and comedian Alan Carr.

The popular TV host is also joined by Derry Girls star Siobhán McSweeney, and singer and podcaster Jessie Ware.

Felicity starred in a West End revival of Lettice and Lovage at the Menier Chocolate Factory alongside Maureen Lipman in 2017.

She also made an appearance in one episode of US Crime series Pennyworth in 2019.

The acting legend was also starred in Strictly Come Dancing back in 2008 where she danced alongside professional partner Vincent Simone.

They made it through to the iconic BlackPool Tower Ballroom show, but were the seventh couple to be eliminated from the popular dancing competition.

The Graham Norton Show airs tonight at 10.45pm on BBC One.
