Exit for Stacey as she is jailed for shock crime in EastEnders?

Could Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) be set to head back to prison following a shock crime in upcoming EastEnders scenes?

It certainly looks that way, when Callum Highway (Tony Clay) asks her to come to the station for a chat.

Stacey has been struggling for money in recent weeks, especially after the break in at the bap van.

Things got even worse when Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott) reduced his child maintenance payments as a way to get back at Stacey and daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) after their argument.

All is not lost, though, as Stacey soon finds a way of getting her hands on a substantial sum of money.

When the Slaters’ fridge breaks down, Stacey isn’t worried, as she now has cash to splash.

Mum Jean (Gillian Wright) is instantly suspicious, and demands to know if the money is stolen.

Stacey denies stealing the money from the office they clean, but soon becomes concerned that she may lose her kids if she is caught and sent down.

Enlisting Jean’s help, they make a plan to return the money by distracting security guard Alan.

However, after Callum’s bombshell, she makes things worse for herself by threatening Alan.

Last month, Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw revealed that, ‘Stacey finds herself doing something she’s never done before in an effort to protect her family and unborn grandchild.’

Could this theft be what he’s referring to, or is something more sinister afoot?

We know that things will take an even darker turn for Stacey at the end of the year, when she is involved in a murder on Christmas Day.

Will Stacey make it out of 2023 without a spell in prison?
