Emma Willis jokes Matt ‘still annoys’ her as she opens up on 15 year marriage
Emma and Matt Willis have admitted that they still get "annoyed" with each other as they reach 15 years of marriage. The loved up duo appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain with hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard to discuss all things marriage and their upcoming charity trek.
Speaking to the hosts the duo spoke about their marriage, acknowledging that they have been through some tough times like many marriages but they have come out the other side. Matt, 40, said: "Most marriages go through rocky patches, ups and downs.
"Luckily we have kind of come out the other side of those, and it has just made us stronger." Emma then added to her husband's point saying: "We quite like each other still which helps.
"We still love each other, and still get annoyed with each other. He's alright."
Ben then touched on the recent documentary Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction, which went through Matt's fight with addiction over the years. The show also followed Emma, 47, as she spoke about her part in Matt's journey, in several open and honest moments.
He asked: "The documentary was just incredible, both of you being that open and honest. Is it being able to share that sort of complicated life issues, that means the bond is stronger?
"Is it sort of giving each other space to go off and do whatever you need to do separately?" Emma gave an honest response saying: "I don't know, who really knows what the key to a long marriage is other than hard work and patience."
She added: "On both sides this is not just one side, and I suppose understanding and communication. And trying to understand the other person's point of view, which is what we've always tried to do."
The duo tied the knot back in 2008 at a glamorous ceremony at the stunning Rushton Hall in Northamptonshire. However it has since been revealed that Busted singer Matt, was only released from rehab three days before the big day.
Speaking in his documentary Matt spoke about the big day saying: "Our wedding was three days out of rehab. I was gripping my chair for dear life. I didn't really have the time that people probably dream of on their wedding day so we got to renew our vows after 10 years."
Matt and Emma then renewed their vows in 2018 at the same venue giving Matt the chance to have fun on his big day. Their three children Isabella, 13, Ace, 11, and Trixie, seven also got to attend the event making it even more special for the pair.
