EastEnders fans celebrate paedophile Katy getting jailed as Mick gets justice

EastEnders viewers were left on the edge of their seats on Friday night as Katy Lewis (Simone Labhib) finally faced her day in court after sexually abusing Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) when he was a child.

Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) tried and failed to talk to her Mick before his appearance in court.

The young woman was left even more panicked when Katy's defence announced she'd provided a character reference.

All eyes were on Frankie, but Mick reassured his daughter by holding her hand in the courtroom.

The court was later adjourned leaving Shirley (Linda Carter) and Linda (Kellie Bright) to hound Frankie about her character reference.

As Mick prepared to read out his statement, he found an unwell Nancy (Maddie Hill) having a seizure outside.

The judge warned the court that they'd have to proceed or postpone if Mick couldn't be found.

A worried Linda agreed for Mick's statement to be ready by another barrister instead.

Mick called for an ambulance and the paramedics arrived just in time for Mick to hear Katy's sentencing.

The judge took into considering Katy's guilty plea and she was sentenced for 10 years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Katy has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Mick has received the closure he needs."

Another added: "Nice one – 10 years and on the register indefinitely. Good end to this storyline."

It was revealed that Mick was the victim of sexual abuse as child in October.

The shocking twist was revealed as Mick realised that Frankie was his long-lost daughter, after fathering her with care worker Katy when he was just 12 years old.

Mick struggled to come to terms with his historic abuse in the emotional storyline.

The Queen Vic landlord reached out to The Samaritans in emotional scenes on December 31, which saw him come dangerously close to taking his own life.

Later in January, fans were left rejoicing after Shirley discovered Katy abused Mick.

Shirley saw red when she overheard Katy threatening her son to keep their affair a secret, after she had raped him as a child.

After attacking Katy, Shirley then picked up the phone and rang the police to report the abuse.
