Danny Dyer sweetly cuddles grandson as he spends family day with Dani Dyer

Danny Dyer looked every inch the proud grandfather as he spent the day with his daughter Dani Dyer and her baby son Santiago.

The former Love Island winner welcomed her first child with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence in January this year.

The new mum, 24, shared a string of pictures from the weekend she shared with her family, including her EastEnders star dad.

She shared a lovely photo of the actor sweetly holding Santiago and gently pressing a kiss to his head.

In another picture Dani sports a pair of large, dark sunglasses while sitting with her son on her lap, who looked ready to enjoy the sun in an adorable blue and white striped hat.

The little one spent some time in the garden too, as his doting mum uploaded a short video of him in an inflatable den to keep out the sun as a bubble machine kept him entertained.

In another snap Dani held Santiago on her hip with one arm as she took a selfie in the mirror.

She has been sharing her experiences as a first time mum on social media, opening up to fans about how she struggles with how she looks after giving birth.

She wrote: ‘4 thousand tantrums later of nothing fitting me I’m finally ready…

‘Some days I love my post partum body other days it really is hard I’m not going to lie.’

Danny has been a source of support for his daughter throughout her pregnancy, giving her advice on becoming a parent for the first time.

The Mick Carter actor told Metro.co.uk last year before Santiago was born: ‘It’s odd to call myself granddad. It’s such an honour. In my head I’m still 20 in a way, and all of a sudden I’m going to be a grandad.

‘I just want the baby to be healthy. It’s always odd talking about these things when the baby’s not here yet. We’re excited, it’s the start of a new era.

‘And I’ve just got to try and get my head around the fact that I could be a great-grandad by the time I’m 60. That’s what freaks me out more than anything else. Then a great great-grandad by the time I’m 80. F**k me.

‘But I knew this was coming. I had a kid at 18, she’s banged out a chav now! So, you know, it was always going to be inevitable. We’re going to be here for her and it’s going to be a beautiful thing.’
