Eileen (played by Sue Cleaver) has found herself in a number of terrifying storylines during her time on Coronation Street, but the most horrifying is yet to come. Having spent the last few months in Thailand with son Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) she makes her long-awaited comeback to the ITV soap next week. Drama soon follows as her estranged son Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) also makes his return to Weatherfield after a period of absence, but he could live to regret calling on his mother for help as she’s put in a life or death situation?

As soon as the mother-of-two touches back down on the cobbles, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) tell them they’ve hired a private investigator to track down her estranged son.
They explained Todd and his friend double-crossed a local gangster and now her child has done a disappearing act to lay low.
Eileen’s worry goes into overdrive as she panics she is never going to see her youngest son again, thinking he could be killed by the sinister gang.
However, the troublesome character is a lot closer to home than she thinks as he ends up breaking into her house.
Sean mistakes him for an intruder and when he flees the scene, the Rovers Return barman still has no idea who the hooded figure was.
Looking for evidence as to who could have broke in, Eileen soon discovers a note stuffed under the back door.
As she reads the letter, the penny soon drops it’s from Todd and he asks his mother to meet him at an old warehouse.
The police soon arrive at the property to ask questions and carry out their investigation, but the stalwart stays quiet about the evidence she found.
However, they also tell her a body has been found which matches her son’s description, but she knows he is alive.
Later in the week, Eileen will come face-to-face with her son for the first time in three years after he abruptly left the cobbles in 2017.
As they get to talking, Todd admits he’s in danger and desperately needs her help to save him from his enemies.
Back in Weatherfield, Sean tries to get hold of the mother-of-two as he has been warned by the private investigator the troublesome character might not be alone.
At the old warehouse, it seems too late to warn Eileen as a menacing man steps out from the shadows and tensions are soon at an all-time high.

It will be likely the gangster wants revenge on Todd for double-crossing him and could have a plan in mind about how to make sure the troublesome character doesn’t wrong him again.
With her motherly instincts kicking in, Eileen could get caught in the crossfire and might end up being brutally attacked as a result.
Not wanting to leave his mother again, the stalwart’s son would have to ring an ambulance to get her to the hospital.
As the medics carry out an evaluation of the patient, could she have suffered greater and more serious injuries than first thought?
It was only last year Eileen was almost killed when she became embroiled in a human-trafficking storyline alongside former lover Jan Lozinski (Piotr Baumann).
When he double-crossed the gang’s leader, a gun was fired and the latter was the unfortunate victim as he took the bullet for the mother-the-two.
Is history going to repeat itself as she becomes Todd’s knight in shining armour, or will her son take the brunt of the attack?
These scenes will mark the permanent return of the troublesome character, so danger could be lurking for months to come.
Coronation Street continues Friday at 7:30pm on ITV.
