Coronation Street and Emmerdale star sisters father teases new busy soap storylines

Chris Flanagan has praised his two daughters, Amelia and Isabella, for their current "busy" storylines on Emmerdale and Coronation Street as he teased there is "lots more to come".

Amelia plays April Windsor on Emmerdale, who has recently been part of a horrific online bullying plot, while Isabella stars as Hope Stape in Coronation Street, who recently set fire to Alina Pop's flat.

The two sisters also have a famous brother, William, who plays Joseph Brown on Coronation Street.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday night, proud father Chris praised his two daughters as well as teasing new storylines for the two soap characters.

Posting a picture of each of his daughters in their soap roles, he penned: "So proud watching these two tonight, they’ve had such a busy few months and still lots more to come for Hope @itvcorrie and April @emmerdale Thanks for all the lovely comments!"

Soap fans were quick to reply to Chris' tweet as they praised the soap sisters for their "amazing" acting.

One person said: "Amazing little actresses. You must be so proud. Two really difficult story lines acted with such maturity x."

A different soap fan put: "They are absolutely incredible, such amazing talents and a total credit to you, can't wait to see what's to come xx."

While another account added: "Chris, lost for words at the really outstanding acting from Amelia & Isabella. They have both obviously worked so hard to get their stories spot on.Well done @emmerdale @itvcorrie."

On Wednesday night's Emmerdale, April, played by Amelia, finally discovered that her aunt and friend Cathy Hope is the person who started the online bullying.

Only recently, viewers were left disgusted after it was revealed that Cathy was April's "evil" bully and had been tormenting her online over the past few weeks.

During the episode, Cathy finally came clean as she said: "Please don't hate me!"

To which a hurt April replied: 'You're my mum's little sister, you're my aunt, you're supposed to look after me!

"It's wrong and it's horrible, I'm telling my dad, Rhona and the school what you have done. I'm telling everyone, you big bully!"

Delivering a parting blow, April declared: "I wish you were in the grave instead of my mum, you made me say that!"
