Soap fans, rejoice! As it is nearly time for the British Soap Awards 2023.

Yep, stars of British soaps Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders, Doctors and Hollyoaks will gather for their red carpet moments and to find out who has won what during the ceremony.

The annual event is one of the biggest nights in soap – but what do we know about this year’s event?

Here’s all you need to know, from the date and location of the ceremony to this year’s nominees.

Plus how can you watch the 2023 event at home?

When and where are the British Soap Awards 2023?

The British Soap Awards will take place on Saturday, June 3 2023 at 7.45pm.

The ceremony usually takes place every June, as it last did in 2022 and 2019. It was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

For 2023, The Lowry in Salford, Greater Manchester is the venue hosting the glitzy event.

However, it won’t air on TV on June 3 – as ITV have confirmed the pre-recorded show will air on Tuesday, June 6 2023 at 8pm.

Who is nominated for the British Soap Awards this year?

A lot’s been happening in the land of soaps lately, including EastEnders’ Lola Pearce’s heartbreaking terminal cancer storyline, the arrival of scheming Caleb Milligan in Emmerdale, and the horror acid attack on Coronation Street’s Ryan Connor and the return of killer Stephen Reid.

So, there are a lot of nominees – but how the winner is decided varies based on the category.

Fans at home can vote for their Best Leading Performer (from a large longlist), as well as the Best Young Performer and Villain of the Year (from a shortlist of nominees).
