Boy George became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on Tuesday and during his time in the jungle the pop star was not afraid to speak his mind. The music icon revealed in his exit interview that he was ready to go and his goddaughter Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace revealed Boy George was only in the jungle “for the money”.

She revealed her godfather didn’t need the I’m A Celebrity paycheck but claimed that’s what attracted him to the show.

“Of course, it was the money that got him in there,” Aisleyne said.

“He’s an absolute legend and a diva, he’s not going to take a penny crumb.”

“He’s an artist – reality stars are reality stars and that’s fine but people like him are one of a kind,” she told The Sun.

After Sue Cleaver left the camp, Boy George angered his campmates by sneakily taking her banana.

In the Bush Telegraph, he admitted: “I had a banana last night and then obviously Sue left this morning and there was an extra one, so I took it and I ate it and I hid the skin in my pocket so I wouldn’t get caught. Ha ha ha!”

However, it wasn’t long before Jill Scott and Owen Warner noticed a banana had gone missing.

Owen asked: “You had one last night and one this morning?”

Boy George said: “Mmm, I thought it was Sue’s,” and Owen added: “Without asking?”

“Says the man who has had more food than anyone in this camp,” the pop icon hit back.

Owen replied: “Could have asked first though.”

In the Bush Telegraph, Owen said: “So last night the bananas we got for dessert we saved for breakfast this morning.

“There was nine. There’s one short. George confesses he’s had Sue’s banana…Don’t steal food from me!”

Singing in camp, Boy George teased: “‘Oh yes, I had two bananas, two bananas today…’”

ITV viewers were not happy with Boy George’s behaviour and took to Twitter to support Owen.

@Chris94803 wrote: “I feel like they need to search #BoyGeorge before he leaves his bag will be filled with bananas and towels #ImACeleb.”

@nadinebh_ added: “His banana stealing days are over, Boy bye #imaceleb.”

@sabrinajaine vented: “Not George shading my beloved Owen just because he likes food and you nicked a banana! #ImACeleb.”

“How can Boy George complain about Owens hunger when he literally stole a banana #ImACeleb,” @saffa__x questioned. (sic)

However, @bonnieknight_ defended Boy George: “I’m sorry but this Owen being hungry thing is boring the hell outta me now, crying over a banana, eating burnt rice and then scraping the pizza crumbs? Go away #ImACeleb.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here continues on ITV on Wednesday at 9pm.
