Alison Hammond makes Loose Women announcement during break from This Morning

This Morning star Alison Hammond has revealed that she will be joining the Loose Women panel for their upcoming tour – in a place very close to her heart.

Alison has been a regular on the ITV daytime show This Morning for many years but has taken over hosting duties from Phillip Schofield following his exit.

She will now present alongside fellow ITV stalwart presenter Dermot O'Leary on Friday mornings while Holly Willoughby will keep her spot on the sofa for the rest of the week, sharing duties with Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.

During the episode of Loose Women on Friday, Alison sent in a video to make her very special announcement and to share where she will be joining the tour.

The panel will be making their way around the country with a raft of special guests, including Alison.

In her special message, Alison also revealed the reason why she was joining that particular tour date.

In the clip, she said: "I will be joining you guys on your little Loose Women tour! I'll be doing Bath on the 21st September and Plymouth on the 23rd September. I couldn't let you all have fun without me. That is my little hometown, so I'm excited. I've already booked the place for pre-drinks. I'll get my family to buy some tickets!"

Responding to the news of Alison's presence on the tour, the producer of Loose Women Sally Shelford shared: "We’re delighted to have these amazing guests join us for Loose Women Live. They will be wonderful additions to the night, alongside our fantastic Loose Women panellists."

Other big names have also been confirmed for the tour which is due to start in September.

Martin Kemp, Nina Wadia and Richard Arnold are all down to attend as well. Martin is set to join the show in Oxford on September 25 whilst Nina will join the group at Liverpool on September 3, with Good Morning Britain star Richard joining them in Cardiff.

Alison will not be the only This Morning star to join the tour as Josie Gibson has also confirmed she will be there in Bath and Plymouth.

Former Gavin and Stacey star Larry Lamb will be in Southend, whilst Charlie Hardwick from Emmerdale will be in Newcastle. Chesney Hawkes will appear in Nottingham as well as Pop Idol Michelle McManus in Glasgow. The X Factor winner Jake Quickenden also joins the tour in Southampton.
