Great Yarmouth in the UK and Almeria, Spain, were the two locations Jasmine and Jonnie were tasked with scouring for today’s A Place in the Sun. Husband and wife duo Wendy and Pete had decided it was time to find their perfect home, with the latter edging towards the sun-soaked shores of Spain while Wendy was more partial the seaside town of Great Yarmouth. It was up to Jasmine to see if she could win Pete over with her UK-based properties – and she got off to a good start with her first option.

Despite the Channel 4 guests teasing it was a “grudge match” to decide where they’d be buying their next home, Wendy and Pete were both open to listening to choices in the other’s preferred location.

Jasmine, therefore, had Wendy firmly onside from the get-go as they went house-hunting around Great Yarmouth – although Pete needed convincing.

And the A Place in the Sun host got off to a flying start, landing a contender with property number one.

However, it wasn’t the pair’s differing opinions which caught Jasmine off-guard, but rather a requirement the dog-loving pair had.

“(I’m) amazed,” Wendy told Jasmine, clearly loving the house on offer. “I didn’t expect this from the outside.”

As the trio explored the three-bedroom, £160,000 property further, Jasmine enquired about the pair’s pooches.

“So, how does it work then at home? Where do the dogs sleep?” Jasmine asked her guests – although she wasn’t expecting their response.

“They have their own room,” Wendy told the property expert, leaving her speechless and her mouth wide open.

Jasmine couldn’t find any words to respond to the two, prompting Wendy to continue: “Spoilt dogs.”

Jasmine clearly had no words to respond and swiftly moved on to show the pair the garden of the property.

Property number one seemed to sit well with Wendy and Pete – but was blown out of the water by the second option.

The second property 10 miles from Great Yarmouth ticked all of Wendy’s boxes, with her saying it ruled property number one of the competition.

However, after a night of sleep on things, the two did decide they’d reinstate number one as a possible option, sending them off to Spain with two out of three contenders back home.

But Jonnie had plenty of appealing options up his sleeve to try and best Jasmine in today’s house hunt.

So much so, Wendy – who’d warmed towards a UK home – told him she was feeling “emotional” by how nice the properties were.

The first property they looked at led to them telling Jonnie it was “absolutely perfect”.
