Fans Are Concerned for Ariana Grande After Her Tearful Performace of 'R.E.M'

On her Sweetener Tour, artist Ariana Grande gave a tearful performance of her song “R.E.M.” Almost instantly, fans on Twitter expressed their concern for the pop star, asking her to take a step back from live performances. Here’s what the “Thank U, Next” singer said about her mental health in response.

A video showing Ariana Grande crying during ‘R.E.M.’ went viral on Twitter

Being a pop star isn’t always glamorous. While on her Sweetener Tour, Ariana Grande started crying while she was singing “R.E.M.” This isn’t the first time Ariana Grande had an onstage breakdown and fans are definitely noticing.

“I am genuinely concerned for Ariana Grande she needs time to grieve and to collect herself this constant pushing [on] her to be on tour is obviously not good she’s been crying on stage every night my heart hurts for her,” said one Twitter user.

“Ariana Grande needs to cancel her tour. her mental health is too important and seeing her crying at EVERY show hurts me a lot. she needs to rest and positive vibes only. I love her,” another Twitter user said. “She just keeps adding more shows and more shows but it’s not convenient for her health.”

On July 7, Ariana Grande responded on Instagram

Following the video of her crying, Ariana Grande responded on Instagram. There, she gave fans an update on her mental health and explained how grateful she is from her fans and her team.

“Tour is wild. Life is wild,” Grande wrote on Instagram. “I’m grateful for the sea of love I have around me every day and for the people who come to these shows and give all of us every ounce of energy they’ve got. I’m grateful to work with the best musicians and dancers in the world. I’m grateful for my voice and my team. I’m grateful for this music. I’m grateful for my tour bus driver, Kurt who bought me pickles yesterday because he saw we ran out.”

The artist had a rough few years. In 2017, there was the Manchester terror attack outside of her concert. In 2018, Ariana Grande suffered the loss of her friend Mac Miller and broke her engagement with Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson.

“I’m sharing this because I’m grateful and because I want you to know that if you too are hurting, you can push through and are not alone,” she continued. “It is hard to balance taking care of the people around you, doing your job, and healing/taking care of yourself at the same time but I want you to know, you aren’t alone and I think you’re doing great. Love you.”
