Avril Lavigne Puts Canada Shows on Hold Due to Positive COVID-19 Case Within the Tour

The ‘Complicated’ hitmaker, who is currently touring in support of her ‘Love Sux’ album, apologizes to her fans after she was forced to reschedule some shows in Canada.

AceShowbizAvril Lavigne was forced to postpone her shows in Canada. The “When You’re Gone” hitmaker, who is currently touring in support of her “Love Sux” album, informed her online devotees that she had to reschedule some dates due to positive COVID-19 case “within the tour.”

The 37-year-old shared the announcement via Twitter and Instagram Story on Sunday, May 1. “To my fans and friends in Laval, QC, Moncton, NB and Halifax, NS, we are sincerely sorry to let you know that we are postponing these shows due to a positive COVID case within the tour and subsequent exposure,” she first declared.

“Tonight’s show at Place Bell will be rescheduled for May 7th and new dates for both Moncton and Halifax will be announced shortly,” the Pop Punk Queen added. “I/we sincerely apologize and want you to know that this was not a decision we made lightly. We remain focused on everyone’s safety and can’t wait to see you all very soon.”

Avril is set to make stops at several other cities across Canada and the U.S. through the spring and summer. Meanwhile, the “I’m With You” songstress has pushed a U.K. and Europe trek to next year (April-May 2023) due COVID-19 concerns.

“To my fans in Europe and the UK, I have some unfortunate news to share with you all about my UK and European dates. I have to make the difficult decision to postpone this tour until 2023,” she announced back in February. “Due to the on-going issues surrounding the pandemic, there are a series of travel and venue restrictions from country to country that have made the tour not possible to happen.”

“It’s not an easy decision, but it’s one that will help ensure that we are able to play every single date of the tour, put on the best show possible at full capacity, and operate in a safe environment,” the fiancee of Mod Sun continued. “It really breaks my heart to have to do this, but I know it will be worth the wait.”
