Adele requests joint custody of her son after filing for divorce

The British songstress has reportedly requested joint custody of her son Angelo after filing for divorce from husband Simon Konecki.

Adele, 31, citied "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for the divorce from Simon, whom she married in a private ceremony in 2016.

The Blast, which obtained the new papers, claimed the Someone Like You hitmaker has requested joint physical and legal custody of their son.

According to the publication, the songwriter is willing to settle the finances in mediation, and the papers indicated the duo have already worked out a custody arrangement.

According to the Mirror, Adele is moving on from the split, as the source said: "Adele feels free and is moving on with her life.

"It looks like the divorce will be straightforward at this stage. They both want what is best for their son.”

The pair first met in 2011, and largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

Keeping her relationship away from the media glare, Adele confirmed she had married her beau during her acceptance speech at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards in 2017.

She gushed: "Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband, and my son, you’re the only reason I do it," she said."

Rumours had been swirling around the pair's marriage when Simon appeared at this year's Brit awards without his wife.

Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh, Adele's representatives, confirmed the couple had split and issued a statement in April.

It read: "Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly.

As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
