The new Yankee Candle 2021 Scent of the Year is all about discovering a new world. After 12 months of being at home during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, things are starting to look up. Yankee Candle is ready to inspire us with a brand new scent that is bound to get our spirits high and ready for travel.

The brand’s third annual Scent of the Year candle, called “Discovery,” includes a blend of fabulous scents from around the world that aim to “ignite the renewed feelings of discovery, energy, connection and desire to fully embrace new experiences and cultures” after such a horrible year.

The candle features a blend of starfruit, mango and passionfruit warmed by a touch of ginger and vanilla spice. The vessel looks to be inspired by a fun Moroccan-style tile design that has pops of pink, yellow and orange that creates a stunning luminary effect when the candle is lit.

Yankee Candle Scent of the Year: Discovery, $30

“Working closely with fragrance and trend experts, we found that people around the globe are craving travel and exploration now, more than ever before,” said Anna Whitton, VP of Marketing for Yankee Candle Company in a press release. “Knowing that travel may still be out of reach for many this year, the 2021 Scent of the Year, Discovery, was designed to help people fulfill the universal desire to discover new cultures, make new memories, and embrace new connections from the comforts of their own homes.”
