Waitress makes dark killer joke – not realising shes with Ted Bundys relative

An ex-waitress has revealed how a dark humour joke about serial Killer Ted Bundy became the most awkward moment on her first day on the job.

The TikTok user @broccoliandmoxie shared a video on the app explaining how she met the man who was going to train her on her first day as a server.

She noticed how he shared a surname with the infamous murderer.

But after passing comment about the name, it turned out he was a relative of Theodore Robert Bundy – who kidnapped, raped, and murdered at least 30 young women and girls during the 1970s.

In the video, which has gained more than 1million likes, the former waitress explained: "When I was 19, I worked as a server and on my very first day, one of my coworkers came up to me and was like, 'Hi, my name is blank and I'm going to be training you.'

"And I was like, 'Oh my God, I saw your name on the schedule. Your last name is Bundy. Like the serial killer. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.'"

She claims the man just stared at her blankly for a moment before she apologised and said: "I bet you get that all the time. I bet that's really annoying."

However, the bloke apparently revealed that they were actually related to the serial killer, Ted Bundy who was executed for his crimes by the electric chair back in 1989.

The poor lass was left feeling red-faced and uncomfortable and couldn't think of anything else to say about the situation other than asking the guy if he wanted to go over the menu with her.

But her co-worker didn't hold it against her though as she added in the comments: "It ended up being a funny story. He was my closest work friend at this job and was very kind about the whole thing."

Viewers were stunned over the clip as they couldn't believe just how awkward that moment would have been and also how open the bloke was about it all.

One user said: "That’s so wild to me. I couldn’t imagine keeping the same last name as my serial killer relative."

Another quipped: "It’s like when your teachers already know who you are because of your siblings…. but like a hundred times worse."

A third joked: "I served a guy whose birthtime was the same time Bundy was executed and I was like "omg are you a reincarnate?!"

However, she isn't the only one to have met a Bundy relative as one user wrote: "All Bundys have to be related. My manager is his great niece."

Another added: "My high school teacher **** Bundy is actually related to him too."
