Starbucks fudge hot drink contains more calories than McDonalds cheeseburger

Now that spooky season is over, the UK is prepping for Christmas and that means the Starbucks’ festive cups are back.

The coffee chain has released a number of limited edition drinks for the celebrations including a Caramel Waffle Latte and a Fudge Brownie Hot Chocolate.

The delicious beverages will be available from November 4 and will join Starbucks’ Christmas classics like the Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte.

But, if you’re watching your waistline after losing those lockdown pounds it’s best to be aware of what you’re sipping.

According to the Starbucks UK website, a grande Fudge Brownie Hot Chocolate contains 364 calories – that’s more than a McDonald’s cheeseburger which contains 310calories.

And, it’s only six calories less than a Bacon Mayo Chicken which racks up 370 calories.

Meanwhile, a grande Caramel Waffle Latte contains 337 calories which is the more than a McDonald’s Mayo Chicken that has 319 calories.

Luckily, it’s okay to indulge every once in a while as a part of a healthy and balanced diet because there’s no way we’re not trying these festive drinks at least once.

The Caramel Waffle Latte is described as “signature espresso and steamed milk, combined with Winter Waffle sauce. Topped with whipped cream and Spiced Caramel Waffle Crunch topping.”

Yum! And, the Fudge Brownie Hot Chocolate is said to be a “classic Mocha, mixed with Biscuit flavour sauce and combined with mocha. Finished off with whipped cream, mocha drizzle and Fudge sprinkle topping.”

Starbucks fans will also be thrilled to learn that the iconic red cups are back for the festive season alongside Christmas-themed tumblers and mugs.

The reusable red cups are built with heat sensitive technology which changes them from holly green to berry red when hot drinks are poured in. Magical.

Members of Starbucks Rewards will get early access to the holiday menu and can collect stars on each purchase to go towards a free drink.

Customers who bring a reusable cup to store will hey 25p off their drink.

And, if you don’t fancy leaving the comfort of your own home, Brits can now order Starbucks on Deliveroo and have the drinks brought to you. Win!
