My husband can’t stand my daughter and it's causing a divide | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband can’t stand my daughter from a previous relationship and it’s breaking the whole family up.

We’ve been together for a long time.

We are both 35 but I had my daughter at 16 before I met my husband.

Her father was also young and we didn’t develop a relationship.

Since we married, my husband and I have had two boys, who are now ten and 12.

My daughter is 19 and she clashes with my husband so much.

She works part-time in a supermarket and pays her way with some bed and board money.

But if I give her money to put a bit of petrol in her car, my husband really resents it.

He always picks faults with her and yet the boys can do no wrong.

My family think he’s kindness personified but they don’t see how cruel he can be behind closed doors.
