Are you renting in the UK?

Martin Lewis has revealed how Brits can save a ton of money on their monthly bills.

The 49-year-old founder of Money Saving Expert said that renting can really work for some Brits as it offers flexibility and freedom.

Writing in his latest weekly newsletter, he said: "Renting is the right choice for some, while others have no choice."

He shared a number of tips when it comes to renting, like how Brits can slash their monthly household bills by hundreds.

The guru explained: "The rule is simple: if you pay the bill, then you're allowed to choose supplies and can therefore switch and save.

"So unless you pay an 'everything included' rent, don't sit on your laurels, do some saving.

"Though for courtesy it's worth letting the landlord know."

Firstly, renters can save hundreds on their energy bill as some agreements mean they have permission to switch.

If you need a new meter, you can check this with your landlord, otherwise if you're paying the bill you can change tariff.

Martin suggests reading his Renters' energy-switching factsheet to read on what rights you have with your landlord.

There's also broadband and home phone deals where renters can save money.
