Mark Hamill Reacts To THAT Surprise Return In The Mandalorian Season Finale

The season two finale of The Mandalorian season two was packed with unforgettable moments, but one stood out above all others.

Although it will go down as one of the most problematic years in modern history, 2020 wasn’t all bad. I’m sure you’re sick of seeing Facebook statuses about why last year was actually a good one for someone you haven’t spoken to since leaving school, or a cousin you couldn’t really care less about. Don’t worry, I’m not about to do that here.

I’m here to talk about one particular highlight in 2020. Not a personal one, but one for all the Star Wars fans out there. The second season of The Mandalorian. Fair warning, if you are yet to watch the entire season, there are some serious spoilers dead ahead. Most of them pertain to the litany of surprises we were treated to during the season finale.

With The Mandalorian, Grogu, and the rest of the show’s heroes facing what appeared to be certain death at the end of the season finale, an X-Wing arrived unexpectedly. That X-Wing was being flown by a mystery Jedi with a green lightsaber who proceeded to board the craft and eliminate the Dark Troopers bearing down on Mando and the crew. Once the Jedi arrived and had saved the day, he revealed himself to be Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill unexpectedly reprised his role as one of the most famous characters in cinema history. He was even touched up courtesy of CGI so he looked like a much younger version of himself since The Mandalorian takes place shortly after the events of Return of the Jedi. Hamill has taken to Twitter numerous times since to declare how happy he is with how it went and to thank the creators of the show.

Hamill revealed that his involvement with the show has been in play for over a year, declaring it a miracle that it didn’t get spoiled. He has also tweeted that seeing fan reactions to his reappearance in the Star Wars universe will be something he cherishes forever. As for whether we will see more of him in The Mandalorian season three and The Book of Boba Fett, that will likely remain under wraps until it happens, if it happens.
