Love Actuallys Mia had seven-year relationship with James Bond actor

It's that time of year where we fire up Love Actually and get the Christmas drinks on the go.

The feel good film has an A list cast and it has been a total Christmas classic since its 2003 release.

And one of the main storylines in the film centres around Harry (Alan Rickman) cheating on his wife Karen (Emma Thompson), which has us reaching for the tissues each time.

In the film, we see Harry continuously flirting with his secretary Mia (Heike Makatsch) who he then buys an expensive necklace for Christmas.

Outside of the film, actress Heike, 50, was in a relationship with a very well known James Bond actor – Daniel Craig!

The pair were together for seven years altogether, but they were often kept apart due to work.

Daniel once said: "Film sets have caused a lot of break-ups; marriages go down the tubes. It’s bloody lonely.”

Daniel and Heike first met on the set of romantic drama Obsession, which involved a love triangle between two men and women.

They reportedly ended on good terms and both are now in separate relationships, with Heike dating German actor Tystan Pütter.

Daniel was linked to Kate Moss and Sienna Miller too, but he denied rumours he was dating them.

Now he's married to British actress and model Rachel Weisz.

Rachel has starred in The Mummy, Marvel's Black Widow, The Deep Blue Sea, The Favourite, The Constant Gardener and many other films.

The pair have been together for 11 years and fired up their romance in 2010 while working on the film Dream House together.

The James Bond star was actually pals with Rachel before things turned romantic, with the couple meeting at university.

Fate reunited them as they performed in a 1994 play at the National Theatre Studio together, and then it was on a movie set that things become romantic.

Daniel rarely discusses his private life, but he did open up to GQ in 2015 about his and Rachel's wedding.

"We did it privately and we've got a lot of people to thank for that… The whole point is that it was a secret. A secret is a secret," he said.

Rachel has confessed she was never a fan of marriage, but that changed after she met Daniel.

"I never thought I would get married. It was not an ambition of mine… Then it just happened, happily, at a more mature moment,” she told The Evening Standard Magazine in 2018.
