Learn how to trim the cost of your haircut by getting 50 per cent off in salons – plus play to win £50k on the Sun Savers Raffle – The Sun
HE price of a trim can be hair-raising – with the average woman spending £751 a year on her locks.
But don’t get stressed by your tresses, there are plenty of ways to look after your hair for less . . .
COLOUR ME HAPPY: Boots is offering two boxes for £10 across the Clairol Nice ’N Easy range (normally £6.79 each), saving £3.58, and L’Oreal’s Colorista collection (usually £5.99 per box), saving £1.98. Asda has rolled back the price of the Garnier Nutrisse colour range to £5, from £5.80. And that is far cheaper than an in-salon option. Follow up with a hair mask to get that salon shine. I like Palmer’s coconut oil deep conditioning protein pack, £2.09 at Superdrug, as a cheap fix.
SAVE: Up to £3.58
SWITCH AND SAVE: Swapping hairdresser means you can often get a first-timer discount. Visit groupon.co.uk to find salons offering 50 per cent off. Or book through the Treatwell app. New customers currently get 15 per cent off. See treatwell.co.uk.
SAVE: Up to 50 per cent
TRAINING DAY: Become a hair model and get discounted trims at a hairdressing academy. For example, you can get a cut for £5 at Toni & Guy’s Manchester academy with a supervised trainee. The salon price is around £30. Your local college may have its own beauty salon offering cheap trims, too.
SAVE: Around £25
VITAMIN SEA: Sun, sea and sand can leave you hair a little lacklustre, so you will need a deep conditioner. I’m a fan of Morrocan oil but not the £32 price tag. Instead, I go for the Hask argan oil repairing deep conditioner which is £3 from Tesco — but I found it in Superdrug for £1.66 this week.
