Five royals and their secret celebrity crushes – including Meghan’s hots for William
During their single days, Princes William and Harry were two of the most eligible bachelors in the world.
Girls up and down the country swooned over their every move. And with their boyish good looks, sense of humour and down to earth nature, it’s clear to see why.
Despite growing up and having families of their own, the princes’ love lives have continued to make headlines.
In fact, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have amassed their own fanbases too – who could forget when a Dagenham school boy quipped how "she really is beautiful, innit" when introducing Meghan on a visit!
The royals may be our idols, but who are their secret crushes?
Prince Harry’s hots for Jennifer Aniston
With her enviable hair, age-defying looks and bundles of charisma, Jennifer Aniston is one of Hollywood’s most in demand actresses. And it seems that her allure hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Royals either.
After posing for GQ magazine in nothing more than a tie, the former Friends star had Prince Harry weak at the knees.
The Duke of Sussex even asked the 52 year old for her phone number.
US writer Ian Halperin told The Sun: “Harry was infatuated with Jen for years. He told friends she was ‘princess material’.
"He visited LA and was partying heavily with models there."
Jennifer’s camp has denied the allegations.
Prince William turned down a date with Britney
She may be the princess of pop but in another world, we like to think that Britney could’ve been an actual princess.
During the late 90s, the Toxic and Womanizer hitmaker was enjoying life in the public eye, with the media keen to match her with potential suitors – one of which just happened to be a prince.
And in 2002 in an interview with Frank Skinner, the pop star admitted that she was once friendly with Prince William, though he swiftly put an end to any future romance.
“We exchanged emails for a little bit,” she said. “He was supposed to come and see me somewhere, but it didn’t work out.”
Kate fancied Wills and even had a poster on her wall
While at Marlborough College, Kate was just like any other teenage girl, doing homework, revising for exams and covering her bedroom wall with pictures of celeb crushes.
Though the Duchess of Cambridge has denied the reports, stating that it was a Levi’s model instead, former roommate Jessica Hays told the Mail on Sunday that the 39 year old used to have a poster of Prince William taped on her wall.
Having met the prince during their first year at St Andrews university, Kate is clearly living every girl’s dream.
And Prince William is more than happy to laugh about the rumours of his wife’s teenage crush. During their engagement interview, he even joked: “She had 10 or 20 pictures of me up on her wall at university.”
And Meghan used to fancy William, too!
Though Kate may laugh at reports of her fancying her husband long before they met, she’s not alone in her crush for the prince – Meghan reportedly fancied young Wills too.
According to insiders, Meghan’s connection to the royal family dates back to her school days, where she was “obsessed” with the Royal Family. In fact, she supposedly had a poster of Prince William on her wall too.
But after watching Kate walk down the aisle to marry the Duke of Cambridge, it’s claimed that Meghan turned to her plan B – marrying Prince Harry.
“Since William was now unattainable, Meghan set her sights on Harry, and she became a member of the royal family, except with William’s brother,” they said.
Charles and Joanna Lumley have been spotted getting close
The Absolutely Fabulous star and Prince Charles have been friends for years and Joanna’s cheeky personality has even left the prince blushing on occasion.
While attending the Prince's Trust Invest in Futures Gala Dinner at The Savoy Hotel – charity for which she is ambassador – the Prince of Wales and 75 year old actress were spotted laughing and joking, and looking rather cosy, as they exchanged greetings.
Having attended his wedding to Camilla in 2005, Joanna has remained a loyal friend to the prince, calling The Crown’s depiction of the family “ghastly”.
