Cadbury’s giant Mini Eggs Easter egg wins the Good Housekeeping blind taste test
With Valentine's Day and Pancake Day now gone, the next big holiday for us with sweet tooth's to look forward to is of course, Easter.
The Good Housekeeping Institute has revealed the results of its 2021 Easter Egg taste test and the results look delicious.
The winner of the bunch was a new addition from Cadburys. The giant Mini Egg Easter egg has been crowned winner out of over 40 options; and at only £12 for the whopping 507g treat, you can't argue with the price.
The Easter egg is lightly speckled with tiny piece of mini egg embedded into the large dairy milk egg. It won a very impressive 93/100 by blind tasters, noting that it had a 'distinctly sweet and creamy taste'.
Following very closely behind Cadbury's Mini Egg in the test is Ferrero Rocher's Large Boxed Egg for £10 which also scored a very high with 92/100 and is available to shop now at Tesco..
And the testing didn't stop there. The best eggs were named in a number of categories, suitable for every chocolate lover – including vegan-friendly options available at Doisy & Dam.

Best Easter eggs
Best Egg Overall – Cadbury Mini Egg Easter Egg 507g, £12
With a creamy taste and that signature light crunch that we've all come to know and love, Cadbury's Mini Egg Easter egg is the crowned winner of all 42 tested Easter eggs and features 507g of delicious dairy milk.

First runner up – Ferrero Rocher Easter Egg 275g, £10
Wrapped in the telling gold foil, this Ferrero Rocher replica features it all, minus the nutella middle.
Also included in the set are eight of the brand’s iconic truffles, combining a wafer shell with a whole toasted nut in the gooey centre.

Best supermarket-brand egg – Waitrose No.1 Milk Chocolate with Salted Caramel Truffles Easter Egg 100g, £10
Tasters loved that the egg included four golden salted caramel truffles on the side of this own brand Easter egg from Waitrose. A sweet and salty combination is achieved as the egg is laced with salt crystals and almonds.

Best for adults – Prestat Milk Chocolate Gianduja Truffle Easter Egg 170g, £31.95
Nestled in red tissue paper and tied with a bow, this luxurious Easter egg box from London’s Prestat, is the perfect Easter gift for the big kids with taste, or the adults.
There's a thick milk chocolate shell and six indulgent hazelnut truffles within the set.

Best for vegans – Doisy & Dam Dark Chocolate Easter Egg with Almond Nuttercups, £8
Doisy & Dam's 70% dark chocolate egg was the top tasting vegan egg. Tasters loved the notes of red fruit and coffee, as well as the two packets of the brand’s beloved almond butter chocolate cups to accompany the egg.

Best plastic free option – Chococo Dark Chocolate Ocean Studded Egg 175g, £12.50
Delightfully dark and perfect for those that are eco-conscious, it's completely plastic free and that gives t extra points in our opinions.
The shell on this egg has been painted with an impressive blue ocean design and inside you’ll find it’s studded with secret chocolate turtles and starfish.
The egg goes on sale February 18.
