VISO PROJECT’s New Brooklyn Space Is a Hub for Design Collaborations
During NYCxDESIGN, VISO PROJECT unveiled its first permanent location in Dumbo, one of Brooklyn’s emerging neighborhoods in the design scene. Part gallery, part showroom, and part store, the new venue is a hybrid space both eclectic and versatile enough to house the brand’s upcoming projects and happenings.
Founded by creative directors David Vivirido and Francesco Sourigues in 2019, VISO PROJECT is a lifestyle brand with an ethos of “Creating distinct objects and textiles crafted by expert artisans around the world.” Following the previous success of pop-ups in Tribeca, as well as Frieze LA in 2022, VISO PROJECT has finally opened its own, permanent space.
As part of its opening celebration, exclusive installations were showcased at the brand’s new Dumbo location. Taking center stage is a brand new capsule series by Madrid-based design studio, Casa Antillón, which comprised various shelving units, boasting the studio’s signature wriggly edges and wobbly forms.
Other collaborative pieces unfolded in the space include a chair and candleholders by architect Ángel Mombiedro’s design label, Mombiedro Studio. Drawing inspiration from Ancient Spanish Palmatoria, the candleholders are displayed in a circle comprised of 12 units. Meanwhile, the chair takes on the label’s iconic Qoticher design but is imbued with bird-like motifs from VISO.
Coming up, VISO PROJECTS has plans to provide more collaborative homeware, furniture, decor, art, and photography collections at its Brooklyn location, online store, and via retailers.
