TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. Makes a Runway Comeback for SS22
For the Spring/Summer 2022 season, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. has returned with a collection that showcases Takahiro Miyashita’s musings on his experiences over the past six months.
Titled PAUSE=PLAY, Miyashita took some time to reflect on why he designs and shed light on the continued evolution of his craft.
“I have repeatedly expressed urgency to further evolve fashion and kept looking forward but for the first time this season I felt the need to pause and reevaluate,” said Miyashita. “Up until now I have never looked back on my own past or self-reflected but this season I started to develop the collection by thinking about who I am as a person.” Through his moment of reflection, the new collection illustrated Miyashita’s humble commitment to fashion design.
Shown in Tokyo on September 21, the collection featured an overall dark color palette with subtle injections of color like goldenrod, teal, red and eggplant, which helped convey solemn emotions. Multi-functional three-way pants, knitwear, sawed-off sleeve blazers and re-constructed outwear characterized the collection, alongside faux-upcycled jackets and vests seen throughout several collection looks.
