Netflix star, 28, hospitalised after mystery illness
Sex/Life star Wallis Day has shared a health update after revealing she had been taken to hospital.
The 28-year-old, who played Gigi in the now axed Netflix drama, said she had been ‘quite unwell’ and was treated at St John and St Elizabeth Hospital in London.
The Batwoman actress did not disclose her illness but directed her followers to a link for charity Kidney Research UK in her Instagram bio.
Alongside pictures of herself in hospital, she wrote: ‘I know it’s been a while, I wanted to acknowledge those of you who have reached out & those of you who’ve had questions over the last month – ❤️🩹.
‘In a nutshell, I’ve been quite unwell but fully recovered now. I’m sharing this with my audience because whilst I want to be honest, I mainly feel the need to spread awareness & have added a couple of links in my bio.
‘Above all, I’ve learnt the importance of how we need to listen to our bodies.’
Wallis, who played Holly Cunningham in Hollyoaks, went on to thank the doctors and nurses for ‘bringing me back to health, caring for me round the clock, turning tears into laughter and picking me up through some dark nights.’
‘You’re all angels, thank you so much,’ she added.
Wallis continued: ‘It goes without saying how grateful I am to my loved ones who have been by my side through this entire time, I truly feel like the luckiest girl to have you around, I love you.
‘& to you guys, thank you for reaching out, coming back online to your sweet messages etc brightens my day, thank you ❤️.
‘I truly hope you are having a wonderful summer, I feel extremely thankful to be joining you again & ever grateful to my body for my health.’
Wallis was flooded with messages of support and well-wishes from her 479K Instagram followers, celebrities and loved ones.

Laura Whitmore wrote: ‘Oh babe thinking of you xx.’
Roxy Horner shared: ‘Sending so much love and healing xxxx.’
Sex/Life, which starred Sarah Shahi, Margaret Odette, Mike Vogel, and Adam Demos, was cancelled by Netflix after two series.
The show, created by Stacy Rukeyser, initially followed Billie Mann (played by Shahi) fantasising about her ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos) while married to Cooper (Mike Vogel) in chapter one.
The second season focused on Billie and Cooper’s decision to end their marriage, and their attempts to move on from each other.
After being scouted by a model agent at the age of 13, Wallis pivoted to acting with her first big role being on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks between 2012 and 2013.
On TV, she went on to star in shows including The Royals, Krypton and Jekyll and Hyde, while on the big screen, she performed in Infinite alongside Mark Wahlberg, among others.
Wallis has also appeared in music videos for Lea Michele, 5 Seconds of Summer and Arctic Monkeys.
Sex/Life is available to stream on Netflix.
