Matt Hancock isn’t in for an easy ride on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The 44-year-old disgraced MP, who sparked controversy with last year’s stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, is set to be part of the intense Channel 4 reality show and it’s set to be a gruelling experience for the former Health Secretary.

Chief instructor Billy Billingham appeared on Monday’s episode of This Morning and while he refused to comment on potential cast members for the upcoming series, he did offer a very interesting response.

After Andi Peters asked if Matt is on the new series, Billy simply replied: ‘Everybody in there gets beasted and made cry.’

Presenter Andi immediately caved and had no further questions on stars getting involved, but the former military man did insist viewers will be delighted with the gang of famous trainees.

‘You won’t be disappointed, trust me. You don’t need to know. Watch it! Every time we do it, it gets better,’ he added. ‘We learn from our last one to make it better. The ones in there, people will want to see – and they’ll all cry.’

Billy also reflected on the appeal of the show, and pointed to the ‘personal journeys’ that keep people tuning in every year.

And he insisted there isn’t a one size fits all approach to the show, with the idea being to push each contestant to their own limit rather than challenging them to someone else’s standards.

‘We push every single one of them through their 100%,’ he added.

Hancock will be stepping down as an MP for West Suffolk at the next general election, and he previously xplained that he was using his stint on I’m A Celebrity to seek ‘forgiveness’ from the public over his handling of the pandemic and breaking the very rules he set by having an affair with Gina Coladangelo while social distancing was still in place.

Despite huge backlash that he was even on I’m A Celebrity at all, he eventually finished in third place.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to Channel 4 later this year.
