King Charles cracks up as Miss Piggy gets flirty at Coronation Concert
It seems King Charles is a fan of The Muppets.
Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog made a surprise appearance at the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday evening, celebrating the crowning of Charles and Queen Camilla.
The line-up was starry to say the least, with Katy Perry and Lionel Richie just two of the big names taking to the stage to belt out their tunes.
But in true British style, there was also time for some comedy sketches, as host Hugh Bonneville’s segment was gatecrashed by two cheeky characters.
‘Miss Piggy, Kermit, what are you doing here?’, the Paddington actor asked them.
‘We’re actually looking for our seats, we’re in the Royal Box,’ said Kermit.
‘Wait a minute,’ Miss Piggy said excitedly.
‘It’s him, Kermit! A Lord, a real Lord!’
Hugh quickly clarified that he is, in fact, not a Lord, but he just ‘played one on television.’
‘Give me a bear with a marmalade habit any time,’ he said, already tired of the pair’s tomfoolery.
Naturally, Miss Piggy proceeded to turn the attention back on herself, saying she’s ‘always wanted a castle.’

‘Wait a second, are you single, your Lordship?’, she asked Hugh cheekily.
‘Well, I’m flattered…’, Hugh began, before the puppet was clinging to him excitedly.
‘Oh, you feel it too! Lady Piggy, it just sounds so right, doesn’t it?’, she squealed.
The camera then cut to the King and Queen in their seats, with the monarch absolutely cracking up over being called ‘Charlesy Warlesy.’
‘I have a wedding to plan, for a Lord and future Lady,’ Miss Piggy then said, showing George and Charlotte also chuckling in their seats.
The Muppets were then whisked away, but not before Miss Piggy urged Hugh to buy her a ‘big ring’ for their special day, as Hugh whispered for security to be on the lookout for the chaotic duo.
William and Kate were also seen giggling away at their antics, while His Royal Highness continued to laugh at the stupidity.
‘Charles laughing at Miss Piggy with ‘King Charlsiewarlsie’ was a real highlight!’, one viewer at home tweeted.
‘I really really want Miss Piggy to meet The King’, another demanded.
‘“King Charlesey Warlsey” coming from Miss Piggy whilst practically pouncing on Hugh Bonneville (aka Lord Grantham) is not something I’d ever thought I’d ever see …. but here we are’, another penned.
Another individual was keen for the pair to return: ‘The Muppets turning up was a joy. Hope they televise Hugh and Miss Piggy’s wedding’.
‘Enjoyed Miss Piggy and Kermit causing chaos’, another wrote.
The Coronation Concert airs on BBC One and iPlayer.
