Denim Tears Celebrates Skepta's Artwork With Limited-Edition Collaborative Capsule

Skepta has proven himself as more than a grime OG, as the U.K. rapper has not just seen his painting Mama Goes to Market sell for almost $95,000 USD at Sotheby’s, but also celebrates this achievement now with a capsule collection in collaboration with Tremaine Emory‘s imprint, Denim Tears.

In a lookbook shot by Amy Leung, we find other U.K.-based creatives including the artist Olaolu Slawn wearing the “Skepta Tears” capsule collection. Here, surreal and traditional elements are translated onto clothes with print and graffiti approaches, expressed across five pieces that include a Mama Goes to Market-bearing T-shirt, a long-sleeve that references the top one of Skepta’s women wears in the aforementioned painting, a hoodie, a pair of Denim Tears 501® jeans inspired by the original 1954 pattern, and a tote bag that echoes the pants.

The capsule collection leans well into Skepta’s endeavors as of late, who has just attended and performed at PUMA’s New York Fashion Week runway show. Simultaneously, the U.K. rap scene is having a moment in fashion, especially when it comes to high-end designers and putting the community it speaks to on new names in the scene.

Denim Tears’ capsule collection with Skepta can be seen above and is available to buy online now. Prices range from $75 USD to $320 USD.
