The Voice: Tom Jones dedicates performance to his late wife
Sir Tom Jones, 80, took to Twitter and shared a picture alongside radio DJ Rita Houston where he offered a touching tribute. The Voice UK host said it was a “great loss” as he was swiftly supported by many of his 594,000 followers.
The legendary crooner praised the late presenter for her “knowledge” and “great warmth”.
Sir Tom penned: “The passing of @RitaHoustonWFUV is a great loss to artists and listeners alike.
“She was a wonderful presenter who possessed not only great knowledge but natural intelligence, warmth, and good humour. She will be missed…RIP Rita.”
Fans of the singer flocked to offer their support to Tom, as they shared their condolences.

One person penned: “I’m so sorry for your loss, Sir Tom. My deepest condolences thoughts and prayers go out to her family.”
“My deepest sympathy for her loved ones and to you Sir Tom for the loss of a friend,” a social media user replied.
While a third added: “My condolences to you for the loss of your friend and to her family for their loss as well! RIP Rita.”
Rita had been a programme director at WFUV, a listener-supported station licensed to Fordham University in New York City.
The radio DJ who championed artists like Mumford & Sons and Adele, died last month at her home at the age of 59.
Her partner Laura Feedle said the cause of Rita’s death was a result of ovarian cancer.
Meanwhile, Sir Tom recently addressed his tearful display on The Voice after his friend and legendary singer Stevie Wonder offered a heartfelt message to mark the ITV judges’ 80th birthday.
The Sex Bomb hitmaker welled up on the talent show following the candid message.

Stevie sent a special message to Tom during the premiere episode of The Voice UK.
He said: “I feel so very happy to congratulate you, as you celebrate 80 years on this planet
“I had the pleasure of not just meeting that person who sang that song, but meeting a new friend.”
Stevie added: “And I know that friendship will last for a lifetime. So many wonderful moments we shared.
“I love you with my whole heart, and I want you to promise me that you’ll do your best to give us another 80 years. Sir Tom Jones, god bless you.”
On Twitter, Tom later spoke out, writing: “Thank you my dear friend @StevieWonder that meant a lot to me.
“Here’s to performing with you again soon!”
The Welsh legend added an old clip of them performing It’s Not Unusual from his old TV show This Is Tom Jones, which aired on screens until 1971.
Tom continued: “I’ve dug out my performance with the legendary @StevieWonder and wanted to share!
“This is one of my favourite duets on my TV show #ThisIsTomJones. Great memories, I hope you enjoy!”
