Aljaž Škorjanec has heaped praise on Olivia Bowen and Jess Wright for speaking out about suffering with psoriasis as he opens up on his own battle with the skin condition.

The 31 year old has suffered with psoriasis from a young age, and has teamed up with Medovie to help sufferers discover a natural treatment for their afflictions.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, the Strictly Come Dancing star has discussed how he sees "relief" in people when high-profile stars speak out about their experiences with psoriasis.

Hunky dancer Aljaž also opened up on the support he has received from his wife Janette Manrara, 37, who stars alongside him on the BBC One dance show.

Discussing former The Only Way Is Essex star Jess and Love Island star Olivia Bowen's openness about the condition, Aljaž told us: "I have huge praise for anyone who speaks about their own insecurities and their own conditions, especially people with any sort of platform.

"Even if you don't have a platform, if you help one person by you speaking up, it's amazing. I'm happy with that.

"I didn't start speaking about psoriasis for myself, I mean, it's not going to go away because I've started speaking about it. But if I can help someone at home and it makes them feel better about themselves because I have it, then I'm happy."

He continued: "So many people have got in touch to say they suffer or have the condition and I can see the relief in people, in a weird way, when they see someone in the public eye having the same issue.

"My only purpose is to help someone else, nothing else, and to anyone else who does that, I can understand how self-conscious these things make you and how much courage it takes to speak about it so I applaud them both."

Opening up on his wife Janette's support, Aljaž sweetly said she had been "amazing."

He joked: "She can't get rid of me, she's been with me for 10 years now!

"She's always been extremely supportive and I have never ever felt that psoriasis was more of an issue than it was in my own head."

Jess, 35, recently took to social media to complain how her psoriasis is getting "worse by the month".

Olivia, 27, took to her own 2.5million followers to show the progress of her condition after being prescribed some cream.

She wrote: "I have had [psoriasis] a couple times before, I've had it like this (all over my body head to toe] once before when I was 17. It usually stays with me around 3/4 months. Some days it's horrible & painful & makes me feel terribly insecure.

"Other days I pick myself up & remind myself there are many many things worse than a wee skin condition, and that's what I hold onto! It's just skin, who I am is important [sic]."
