Sam Thompsons date-night disaster as he ‘gives girlfriend Zara McDermott food poisoning’

Sam Thompson will be going head to head against the likes of Kerry Katona, Kim Woodburn and Love Island star Toby Aromolaran on Celeb Cooking School.

And being brutally honest, Made in Chelsea's Sam, 30, tells us his cooking skills haven't improved at all since putting himself to the test in the kitchen.

"Absolutely s**t!" Sam said, when asked how he would rate his skills in the kitchen, before telling us the time he gave his girlfriend Zara McDermott, 25, food poisoning on Valentine's Day.

"I gave Zara food poisoning after I finished the show. I cooked pig’s cheeks and she ended up throwing up," he shared.

"It was for Valentine’s Day as well! I’d just come back from cooking school and she’s chundering. I was like, 'What the f**k have I done?'"

Sam continued: "Genuinely, I have never been a good chef. Being a London boy definitely doesn’t help.

"I’m an inherently lazy person, so I just order Deliveroo. Then Zara moved in and her hobby is cooking and baking."

Sam went on to say that he couldn't boil an egg before saying yes to Celeb Cooking School.

"So, the stars aligned for me to be a terrible chef and leave it to her. I couldn’t even boil an egg before doing the show," he added.

"I mean I could – but it would come out rock hard. Zara’s brilliant, though. She’s so fearless with her cooking."

Sam was reunited with his MIC co-star Maeva D'Ascanio on the programme, as he admitted the pregnant star, 30, "kicked off" at everyone in the kitchen.

"[We were all] mad competitive. We were massively trash talking each other," Sam revealed.

"Maeva kicked off at everyone because she couldn’t handle the pressure. She was a really good chef, she really cared, so she got wound up pretty easily!"

It comes after Sam's co-star Kerry Katona, 41, said something very similar as she revealed in her column that she still "can't cook".

She said: "I took part in Celebrity Cooking School, and I learnt that I still can’t cook! I’m still ordering takeaways!"

"The show was about developing your confidence in the kitchen, but I’m quite a manic person, I have ADHD, and to be honest, I just want to please people with my cooking. The production crew was brilliant," she added.

"It was great to be on a show with Shaun Ryder, Paul Chowdhry, Sam Thompson and Kim Woodburn. It was so much fun, it feels like ages ago now!"

Celeb Cooking School starts on Monday 5 September at 10pm on E4 and All 4
