As Richard Madeley turns 65, his daughter Chloe has shared a topless throwback snap of her dad to celebrate the big day.

The fitness enthusiast, who previously opened up about life in lockdown with husband James Haskell, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her beloved father.

In the photo Chloe, 33, uploaded, the TV legend can be seen sitting in the garden, with his top off and reading a book.

She captioned it: "It's Dickie's birthday and he's not on Instagram but I'm posting this anyway out of mad respect for him, the Wayfarers and denim cut offs, legit my outfit O choice."

Richard's fans took to the comments section to send the presenter their own birthday wishes.

One fan wrote: "Big Rich is a legend, saw him out walking once in Cornwall and it made my day."

Another Instagram user penned: "He's such a legend! Happy Birthday!!!"

A third added: "Happy Birthday to the legend," while a fourth said: "I love your dad!!! Happy Birthday Richard xx."

Richard celebrated his birthday on the same day he headed up the all-male panel on Loose Men.

Loose Women became Loose Men for just the second time in 21 years today, Thursday, but impressed viewers are calling for it to become a regular spin-off.

The hit ITV chat show welcomed an all-male panel as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, where they talked about issues affecting men, and fans loved it so much that they have asked for Loose Men to become permanent.

Richard headed up the panel alongside Jordan Banjo, Martin Kemp and Robert Rinder, discussing everything from male fashion to toxic masculinity.

It comes amid reports that he's tipped to replace Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.

Richard will be accompanying Susanna Reid on the panel in June and if it goes well, he could bag himself a permanent position.

He has previously appeared as a guest-host on the morning show and has proven to be a hit with viewers.

An ITV insider told The Sun: "Piers is nigh-on impossible to replace on GMB, execs accept this, but Richard has his own inimitable style.

"Like Piers, he’s a trained journalist who knows how to press guests and get a decent ‘line’ from interviewees.

"He shoots from the hip, says what he thinks, and in a genuinely brilliant, likeable chap off air – so it's very much a ‘watch this space’."

The dad-of-two, who was spotted taking his wife Judy Finnigan for a spin in his convertible, opened up about the possibility of taking up the new role.

Speaking to the Metro, he expressed: "If the phone went and they said, ‘Would you come in and talk?’ of course I would talk to them.

"It would be bonkers not to. But I very much like sitting in for people. I have all the fun and very little of the responsibility or flak."
