Omarion Dubs Pastor Jamal Bryants Sermon About Late Kevin Samuels Disgusting
Condemning the pastor’s sermon about the YouTuber, the ‘Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood’ alum urges everyone to ‘have more compassion towards’ the late Internet personality regardless of his views.
AceShowbiz –Omarion has called out pastor Jamal Bryant for speaking ill of the dead. Upon learning of the pastor’s sermon about Kevin Samuels, the “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” alum dubbed his speech “disgusting.”
In his sermon, the pastor questioned, “How can a man say that you are of low value after 35?” He added, “How can a man say that you don’t have the level of traction of a high-powered man when that man has to get a GoFundMe for his funeral?” seemingly referring to a campaign created by Kevin’s friend, Melanie King.
The clip was shared by The Shade Room on Instagram, prompting Omarion to comment, “It’s sad when people can’t respect ‘the family’ after loosing a love one. He’s no longer here. Why add insult to injury?” He further asked, “What about the people that loved him- like his mom? They gotta see this or hear about it. This is disgusting & wack asf.”
“Regardless of his views he didn’t kill nobody. We all need to have more compassion,” the B2K member continued. “This is why I don’t attend these ‘fake’ places of worship. Respectfully.”
Kevin, who boasted 1.43 million subscribers on YouTube, described himself as a “relationship guru.” He was known for his controversial dating and lifestyle advice. In April, he drew backlash for calling women who are over 35 and unmarried “leftovers.”
The controversial YouTuber passed away earlier this month at the age of 56. A woman in the apartment told cops that he had complained about chest pain. However, once she tried to help him, he fell. Thus, the woman called 911 before the Internet personality was later admitted to Piedmont Hospital.
Kevin’s death was confirmed by his mother Beverly Samuels-Burch on May 7, saying that she first learned of the news through social media. “That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn’t even know. I hadn’t even been notified,” the grieving mom told NBC News in a phone call. “All I’m doing is requesting that people pray for us.”
