Olivia Wilde slams ex Jason Sudeikis for serving her custody papers on stage

Olivia Wilde has slammed her ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis after she was awkwardly served with custody papers back in April while on stage at a live event.

The actress and filmmaker, 38, announced her split from actor Jason, 46, in November 2020 after dating for nine years and welcoming two children together, Otis, eight, and five year old Daisy.

The two stars had continued to co-parent their children following their split with them each having Otis and Daisy on alternating weeks, as they split their time between London, Los Angeles and London, reports the DailyMail.

However, Olivia and Jason had a disagreement about where to permanently raise their children earlier this year, leading Jason to file a custody petition.

Court filings obtained by DailyMail.com have revealed that the former couple are currently locked in a bitter dispute over Olivia's future plans to relocate to London, where her current boyfriend, pop star Harry Styles, 28, is based.

Olivia and Jason had originally agreed to send their two children back to school in LA for the upcoming school year, as Jason was due to finish filming the final season of series Ted Lasso, which he had been filming in London, according to the publication.

"Recently, however, Jason decided that he wanted to go to New York for the next year while he is not working, and wanted the children to be with him there during this time off," Olivia allegedly said in the filing.

"When I did not agree, since the children have not lived in New York for several years, Jason filed these papers."

The mum-of-two went to argue that Otis and Daisy had spent the majority of the past four years in either LA or London and had attended schools in both cities.

Olivia's ex controversially served her custody papers in April while she was on stage giving a speech about her new film Don't Worry Darling at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

She was presenting to 4,100 film executives when a court process server awkwardly headed on to the stage and handed her an envelope containing the custody documents.

Neither Olivia nor Jason publicly addressed the incident at the time and it had not been confirmed that the envelope contained custody papers until the court filings were seen recently.

According to the DailyMail, Olivia referenced the bizarre incident in her court motion, marking the first time she'd addressed it, and she criticised Jason for his "outrageous legal tactics" and for delivering the documents "mid-speech."

"Jason's actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard. He could have served me discreetly, but instead he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible," she said in the documents.

"The fact that Jason would embarrass me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this manner is extremely contrary to our children's best interests.

"Since Jason has made it clear that we will not be able to work this out for our children's sake outside of the court system, I filed a petition for custody in Los Angeles."

The filings also state that Olivia and Jason were based in New York for the majority of their nine-year relationship and both of their children were born there. The family lived in a home in Brooklyn from 2014 until 2019.

They had spent a lot of time in LA too during that time due to both of their work commitments, but, according to Jason, Brooklyn was considered to be their main residence.

Jason, Olivia and their two children had been living in London since December 2021 but Jason intended to return to Brooklyn when filming for Ted Lasso concluded in July.

Olivia is allegedly looking to live in LA with their two children before potentially relocating to London, while Jason wishes to reside in his "permanent home" in Brooklyn and believes it is in Otis and Daisy's best interests to grow up in New York.
