Michelle Visage: Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice marks her birthday with special outfit
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant Michelle Visage, 51, filmed Giovanni Pernice, 29, wearing a T-shirt with her face on it, as she celebrated her birthday this morning.
But, the professional dancer joked he only liked it because it is black.
In view of her 1.4 million followers, Michelle filmed herself walking over to Giovanni to show fans the item of clothing.
She said to the camera: “Look at the T-shirt,” as she panned the camera over to her dance partner.
Don’t look at this… the face, no.
Giovanni said to the camera: “That’s actually one of the best T-shirts I’ve worn in my life.”
Pleased with his remark at first, Michelle added: “It’s true, it’s true.”
He then jokingly continued: “Because its black.”
Pointing at Michelle’s face on his attire, he added: “Don’t look at this… the face, no.
“But the rest is a very good T-shirt and it suits me very well… and look ay my hair.”
Appearing unimpressed with his comment, the RuPaul’s Drag Race judge flashed an unimpressed look.
Following their flippant exchange, Giovanni took to his Instagram page to wish Michelle happy birthday.
He shared a clip of him zooming into the star’s face as she winked to the camera.
He wrote: “Happy bday Queen @MichelleVisage.”
Michelle also took to Twitter to tell fans she was “lucky” to be spending her special day with Giovanni.
In view of her 518,000 followers, she wrote: “For my 51st birthday today I’m so lucky to spend it with my @bbcstrictly family and my partner @pernicegiovann1. I’m a lucky girl.”
Earlier this month, Michelle Visage said she had to tell Giovanni to “calm down” during intense training.
A video shared to BBC Strictly’s Instagram page showed the pair rehearsing for their Cha Cha Cha dance this weekend.
During the video, Michelle said to the camera: “Giovanni is amazing, he is an amazing teacher. He is very strict, which I wanted.
“There are times where I have to go, ‘Calm down, you’ve been doing this for 120 years, I’m just actually 120 years old’.”
Strictly Come Dancing live shows begin tomorrow at 7pm on BBC One.
