Lorraine Kelly, 60, tried her hardest to be shocked after Piers Morgan, 56, confessed his infamous naked fireplace photo was indeed a fake. The image sees the former Good Morning Britain star pose topless with nothing but some red velvet material across his nether-regions, as he starred as the face of a saucy Burger King campaign.
I’m shocked, said no one!
After seeing the revelation on Twitter, she replied with a stream of laughing faces.
“I’m shocked,” she giggled before adding: “Said no one!”
Piers also took to his own page to joke: “The real thing’s much more ripped.”
He admitted the truth about the photo in his most recent Daily Mail column, where he told that his head was Photoshopped onto a model’s body.
The viral image saw him wear a giant gold Burger King pendant around his neck as he looked meaningfully into the camera.
For years many have wondered whether the image was real or not, with some believing Piers wanted to show off his trim and toned physique.
But sadly for them, it was all a lie.
He recalled in his column: “Burger King paid me an obscene amount of money for a tongue-in-cheek advertising campaign in which I posed like Burt Reynolds, semi-naked, lying by a roaring fire and wearing a big medallion.
“[It was] to promote a new fragrance called Flame that supposedly exuded an aroma of flame-grilled beef.
“Lifesize cutouts of the image appeared in BK shops with the slogan: ‘WHERE THERE’S FIRE, THERE’S DESIRE.’
“And the world’s women drooled over my surprisingly ripped torso.”
He added: “But I can finally now confess it wasn’t really my body – it was a male model named Grant Clarke.”
While Lorraine was acting shocked about Piers’ picture receipt, the outspoken presenter was experising some real surprise of his own, after he was mocked by ex-professional footballer John Terry over his comments on the rising cases of the Omicron variant and the impact of the pandemic on the Premier League.
It comes as increasing numbers of fixtures in England’s Premier League have been called off due to widespread cases among many clubs, with players contracting the virus.
And Piers hit out at professional sports players who have not received the vaccination, suggestion that footballers who have not been jabbed should be refused medical treatment if they suffer an injury on the pitch.
He vented on Twitter: “Footballers who refuse to be jabbed should be refused treatment for injuries.
“After all, why should they trust doctors about treatment for broken legs & torn ligaments if they don’t trust them about a life-saving vaccine?”
Former Chelsea defender John, took the opportunity to cheekily goad the presenter, who frequently shares his thoughts about the pandemic.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, the ex-captain commented: “@piersmorgan Shocking statement!” followed by a football emoji.
Catching wind of John’s tweet, Piers retweeted his message, as he hit back at the ex-pro.
Piers replied: “Why? Footballers get jabbed with stuff all the time, why are they being so pathetic about Covid vaccines when so much is at stake?
“The really shocking thing is that UK footballers are massively less vaccinated against Covid than their European counterparts. It’s insane.”
