Lee Brice Tops Country Airplay Chart With ‘Rumor’
Lee Brice has topped Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart with “Rumor,” his fifth No. 1 single.
Brice topped the chart for the first time in nearly five years, as “Rumor” rose from second position to No. 1 on the July 6-dated chart with a 10% increase to 39.3 million audience impressions.
“Rumor” is the second single from his self-titled fourth LP, which debuted and peaked at No. 7 on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart in November 2017. The single was penned by Brice along with Ashley Gorley and Kyle Jacobs.
“I’ve had such amazing fan support around ‘Rumor,'” Brice told Billboard. “Watching it hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart is unreal. I’m truly grateful, especially for the incredible fans who have supported it by tuning in, downloading, streaming and coming to see our shows.”
He added, “And, have you seen the video? That’s one of my favorite things about this song — it stars my gorgeous wife Sara.”
On the airplay, streaming and sales-based Hot Country Songs chart, “Rumor” rose to No. 2 from third position, with 12 million U.S. streams and 9,000 downloads sold in the week ending June 27.
