Kevin Clifton rarely offers an insight into his life behind closed doors with his followers, but occasionally opens up. The professional dancer has now shared a candid revelation about his relationship, joking that he and girlfriend Stacey Dooley are torn over a pair of shoes.
I hate them but @sjdooley seems convinced they are fashionable now.
The former Strictly Come Dancing ace, 38, is currently performing as Cosmo in the stage adaptation of the musical, Singin’ in the Rain, alongside STEPS singer, Faye Tozer.
While Kevin may be having the time of his life, the professional ballroom star left fans speechless yesterday, as he shared a glimpse of his outfit while backstage after a performance.
Grimsby-born Kevin looked relaxed but his choice of attire appeared to have caused friction in the home he shares with his girlfriend Stacey, 34.
The couple went public with their relationship in 2019 after meeting on Strictly when they were partnered together in 2018 — before eventually going on to win the famous Glitterball trophy.
Posing backstage, Kevin opted for a casual look, admitting he had been drenched by “rain”.
The star slipped into a fluffy dressing gown, appearing to wear nothing underneath while protecting his feet with a pair of green Crocs.
Pouting towards the camera, Kevin panned the camera down to reveal his choice of outfit, before offering a confused look.
Captioning his post, Kevin wrote: “After @intherainsocial coming out of the rain we all put on dressing gowns and crocs! @sadlers_wells.”
His Instagram upload, that has since amassed over 75,600 views, was soon flooded with comments from fans who appeared to be in disagreement with Kevin.
“All about the Crocs,” wrote one, to which Kevin replied: “I mean I hate them but @sjdooley seems convinced they are fashionable now.”
“They are back in mate! Promise ya [sic],” said another.
Before a third penned: “Dressing gowns and crocs are so fetch!”

Earlier today, Kevin revealed that he and his sister Joanne, also a former Strictly professional would be giving their verdict on the recently announced Strictly line-up once again.
Taking to Twitter, Kevin, who appeared on the programme between 2013 and 2019, announced that the latest edition of The Kevin Clifton Show podcast would be dedicated to the competition.
In view of his 248,000 Twitter followers, he said: “It’s nearly @bbcstrictly season again,” before tagging Joanne.
He continued: “Me & @joanneclifton will be discussing everything on the podcast as usual. Thoughts on the celeb lineup so far? #TheKevinCliftonShow.”
However, BBC Breakfast Dan Walker, who recently announced he would be a contestant, waded in, replying: “Rubbish. I haven’t [heard] of any of them,” before typing a laughing emoji.
Yesterday, it was announced that Matilda ‘Tilly’ Ramsay, daughter of Gordon Ramsay, was the latest person to sign on the dotted line to participate.
She will be competing alongside Dan, Tom Fletcher, Robert Webb, AJ Odudu, John Whaite, Rhys Stephenson, Sara Davies and Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this autumn.
