Im A Celebritys Jill Scott lands first big TV job since being crowned Queen of the Jungle

Jill Scott has secured her first big TV job since being crowned winner of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2022.

Following her win against campmates such as Mike Tindall, Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner, lioness Jill returned to her day job, much to the surprise of fans across the nation.

But now, the 35 year old has secured another huge TV appearance with Extreme Fishing’s Robson Green for BBC2’s Dirty Weekends, which will shine a light on the North East of the country.

The series, which kicks off on 23 January, will also star Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies, journalist Steph McGovern, talk show co-host Rosie Ramsey and ex-footballer Les Ferdinand.

The project was announced by the BBC back in May, when Commissioning Editor, Helen Munson, said: “I’m really pleased to announce this exciting new commission from my home county. There is so much talent here in the North East, both on and off screen and this series will absolutely reflect that.

“Robson is a firm favourite with the audience and I’m looking forward to seeing this wonderful series get underway.”

Robson also said: “I’m over the moon that we’re going to be co-producing this great series for BBC Two with Signpost productions. This series will showcase the best the North East has to offer.”

“We’re delighted to get filming this great series with Robson Green and friends, we want to make sure we’re contributing to putting the North East on the map,” added the creative director of Signpost production company, Gareth Deighan.

This comes after Jill recalled an unaired moment in the Jungle while appearing on ITV’s Loose Women on Wednesday afternoon.

Charlene White, who found herself at the centre of some controversy while in Australia, told her one-time campmate: “I think the most difficult moment for you was when you got a cockroach stuck in each year.

“All I remember is you sort of going ‘no, no there is something in there’ and they tried for ages to get it out.”

“Chris ran over to hold your hand because we were all really panicked for you," she added.

“And then Jill sat back down with all of us and suddenly went ‘no, no there is one in the other ear’.”

Charlene continued to say that the cockroach incident was one of the few times she saw her friend “slightly panicked”, to which Jill responded: “I was in the trial and I could feel it crawling in my ear and they said ‘the medics are on hand’ and I was like ‘what does that mean?’”

Elsewhere in the episode, Jill said she hadn’t heard from fellow campmate Matt Hancock, adding that her “knowledge of politics isn’t actually that good.”
