Hollywood reacts to Twitter decision to permanently ban President Trump

Donald Trump’s thumbs will not longer be working too hard. On Jan. 8, Twitter announced that it was permanently banning him from the platform, which is easily his favorite way to communicate. The banning comes days after the outgoing President failed to admonish his supporters as they stormed the Capitol, even telling him he “loved” them. Twitter said the “risk of further incitement of violence” was a cause for the decision. Following the stunning announcement, Hollywood, which is largely liberal, reacted with joy on, well, Twitter. “Thank you @Twitter & the board. #BanTrumpSaveDemocracy #RemoveTrumpNow” –Mark Ruffalo

“This isn’t about censorship or free speech. It’s about protecting lives. Trump’s words have now directly lead to 5 deaths & an attack on the US Capitol. Twitter/tech companies should always ban anyone who incites & encourages violence – especially when they have a big platform.” –Kevin McHale

“Trump just added me on Friendster.” –Patton Oswalt

“President Trump’s account with over 80 million followers just got banned.” –Kevin Sorbo

“Trump banned from Twitter.” –Stephen King

“BANNED FOR LIFE UFKCU!!!! Man this just made my day!” –Michael Rapaport
