Gurpareet Bains dead: Celebrity chef behind healthiest meal dies of heart attack at 43

Gurpareet Bains has died aged 43 following a heart attack on Thursday. His management agency Palamedes PR confirmed the news on Twitter today.

The celebrity chef, whose cookbooks have many famous fans, was hospitalised Thursday following a heart attack.

His management agency Palamedes PR announced his death on Twitter in view of their 1,519 followers.

Along with a picture of the chef, the caption read: “We’re absolutely devastated about the tragic passing of Gurpareet Bains.

“The international bestselling author, Indian superfoods pioneer & creator of ‘the world’s healthiest meal’ was a close friend & long-standing client.

His first cookbook hit the spotlight in 2009 when he claimed to have created the world’s healthiest meal.

The dish was a chicken curry that included blueberries, with an antioxidant equivalent to 23 bunches of grapes.

Gurpareet went on to find success with recipe books and his debut cookbook, Indian Superfood, released in 2010.
