Emmerdales Rebecca Sarker sets the record straight on family set-up after sons request

When OK! caught up with Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker, we were keen to quiz her on her dramatic Christmas scenes playing Manpreet Sharma, the sister of murdering Meena Jutla (played by Paige Sandhu).

It’s the kind of storyline that puts a soap star very much in the public eye, and Christmas Day on Emmerdale sees Manpreet in danger of provoking Meena.

But Rebecca, while keen to keep her life private, was eager to set the record straight about her beloved children.

“I need to set the record straight,” she told us.“I have two sons!”

She went on to explain that her fifteen-year-old is keen for her to talk about him.

She explained: “My youngest is 10 and loves the fact that his older brother, now 15, is never mentioned and my eldest always wants me to remind everyone that I’ve got two boys.”

The mum-of-two then went on to reveal: “I say, 'Yes, darling. I will big you up at every opportunity.' He’s a black belt in karate, plays the guitar, and is very handsome.”

The actress, who previously starred in Coronation Street, has posted a few lovely snaps of “her boys” on social media.

This year has been jam-packed for Rebecca on screen. Yet somehow she’s also been able to find time for keeping herself impressively fit, as her posts on social media reveal her amazing six pack and active lifestyle.

Rebecca has also said she does her own stunts on Emmerdale, and this has led her to be hailed the ‘fittest woman on TV’ for her scenes in super soap week.

But talking to OK! Rebecca reveals that she is hoping that 2022 will “leave behind homeschooling” and that life will see “more of the same where work is concerned. I’ve loved exploring Manpreet’s character and hope it can continue.”

Tune in to Emmerdale to see if she survives her sister Meena’s Christmas drama!
