It's been a while since she last posted on Instagram, but now Cheryl has returned to support her former Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding.

The mum-of-one, who was recently compared to X Factor's Cher Lloyd, has been noticeably absent from the social media site, however, on Wednesday she took to her Instagram stories to promote Sarah's new book.

The 37 year old shared a picture of the book, titled Hear Me Out, and wrote: "Well this is going to be an interesting read."

The singer also sent out her love to Sarah, 39, who has been suffering from breast cancer and said: "Love you @sarahnicoleharding. Swipe up to pre-order."

Sarah shared a poignant post on Instagram, thanking her fans for support and revealing her new book to the world.

The star posted two snaps on her feed, one of her as a child and another of the cover of her brand new autobiography.

"Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all the messages of love and support that I've received since my last post," she began.

"Everyone has been so kind and reading your comments and DMs has been such a huge source of strength to me.

"I can't deny that things are tough right now but I'm fighting as hard as I possibly can and being as brave as I know how."

Sarah, who first revealed her cancer diagnosis publicly in August, continued: "In September the lovely people at Ebury Publishing asked me if I would be interested in writing a book about my life story.

"It came at such a good time for me as it's given me something fun and positive to focus on while I've been stuck at home in between trips to the hospital for treatment."
