Cara Delevingne stuns show-stopping red Oscars gown after opening up on sobriety
Cara Delevingne dazzled at the Oscars on Sunday night as she rocked up to the prestigious event in a beautiful red gown – making up for the lack of red carpet.
The Oscars had already got chins wagging before the ceremony even took place as the highly-anticipated awards ditched its usual red carpet for a champagne-coloured one.
The likes of Florence Pugh, Lennie Kravitz and Jamie Lee Curtis were just some of the big names in attendance, but arguably – while not being nominated for an award this year – model-turned-actress Cara, 30, stole the show with her beautiful gown.
Despite having jetted over 5,000 miles to Los Angeles from London to the Oscars, jet lag appeared to be no issue for runway model and actress Cara who was undeniably glowing.
Cara rocked a red, one-shouldered, floor-length gown with large bow detailing on the shoulder, as well as an Angelina Jolie worthy thigh-high slit.
To complete the look, the 30 year old paired her dress with some platform red sandals, a chunky diamond choker necklace with a matching tennis bracelet and earrings.
To showcase her amazing jewellery, Cara wore her blonde tresses slicked back in a low bun with side parting.
While she appeared to be attending the evening alone, Cara was pictured being reunited with close pal and fellow model Winnie Harlow as they gave each other a hug.
Cara was also snapped with Oscar nominee Jamie Lee Curtis, who is up for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
Cara’s attendance at the Oscars comes shortly after she was revealed to be Vogue’s April cover star alongside a tell-all interview about her ongoing sobriety journey.
Cara, who shot to fame as the face of British fashion designer Burberry in 2011, checked herself into rehab late last year after "pushing everyone away", making her realise she was in a "bad place".
"Before I was always into the quick fix of healing, going to a weeklong retreat or to a course for trauma, say, and that helped for a minute, but it didn’t ever really get to the nitty-gritty, the deeper stuff," the star told Vogue.
"This time I realised that 12-step treatment was the best thing, and it was about not being ashamed of that."
The Hollywood actress also acknowledged a series of images taken of her at an airport in Los Angeles last year where she was behaving erratically also helped her to consider sobriety, despite it being "heartbreaking" because at the time she simply thought she was "having fun".
