Billie Eilish reckons she was 'too strong' to succumb to drugs

Billie Eilish reckons she must have been too ‘superior’ to dabble with drugs alongside her mates when she was younger.

The Therefore I Am singer escaped lasting damage from several teen pitfalls, even the self-harming sparked by ‘my horrible body relationship’.

She said: ‘When I was growing up and I was around my group of friends back then… they would all be drinking and smoking and doing drugs and whatever.’

One of her friends overdosed on drugs but Billie, 19, was never tempted to succumb to peer pressure. ‘I’m a very strong-willed person, and I think at the time I was very alpha,’ she added.

‘I’m coming to realise that I may have felt a feeling of superiority.’

Now she steers clear of drug-takers in the entertainment world as she grapples with life as a global superstar at such a young age. ‘I’m not out here going to parties,’ Billie said. ‘I’m me, so I can’t really go… anywhere.’

A more challenging battle as a youngster was against self-harming. And Billie’s aides were afraid that recent scrutiny over her wearing a crop top would bubble up her past anxieties.

‘The people around me were more worried about it than I was, because the reason I used to cut myself was because of my body,’ the grunge popster told Vanity Fair magazine.

‘To be quite honest with you, I only started wearing baggy clothes because of my body.

‘I was really, really glad though, mainly, that I’m in this place in my life, because if that had happened three years ago, when I was in the midst of my horrible body relationship — or dancing a ton, five years ago, I wasn’t really eating.

‘I was, like, starving myself. I remember taking a pill that told me that it would make me lose weight and it only made me pee the bed — when I was 12.’

Keep calm and Cara on… with globetrotting

Cara Delevingne shows even a pandemic can’t hold her back as the globetrotting continues.

The British supermodel swept into Paris for the city’s haute couture Fashion Week yesterday, which would count as travel for work purposes.

She wore a black biker jacket and boots, fluffy hat and aviator shades… all accessorised by a face mask.

Cara is yet to face the music for flouting the government’s stay-at-home rules last November.

While her good mate Rita Ora apologised profusely for throwing a 30th birthday party in lockdown, Cara, 28, has not commented on her attendance at the bash and whether she faced a fine.

She flew in for Rita’s London party less than a week after living it up at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Her big night out meant she wouldn’t have served 14 days’ quarantine after returning from the US.

Meanwhile, following her turn on the Paris catwalk, the Suicide Squad actress will soon be back on movie sets around the world.

Cara is to star with former Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria in an all-female six-part anthology flick called Women’s Stories. It is expected to be shot in Italy, India, and America.

Naughty Rita turns out to be a jammy Dodger

She seems an artful dodger in real life… and Rita Ora is delighted to be able to put her ‘own spin’ on Dickens’s lovable rogue.

Rita — who issued a set of grovelling apologies for quarantine breaches last year — plays Dodge in Sky Cinema’s Twist, an updated version of Oliver Twist.

Undaunted that the young pickpocket is normally played by a fella, 30-year-old Reet said: ‘In our day and age, it’s an amazing way to attack a role that has a stereotype or a certain gender and be able to flip it and do your own spin on it.’

Appearing on Capital Breakfast yesterday, Rita said her casting showed how much progress had been made in Hollywood and life in general, adding: ‘I think it’s a really positive thing.’

The Anywhere singer managed to escape being sent to showbiz Coventry after she threw a 30th birthday party during lockdown and failed to quarantine after a trip to America.

She kept her job on The Masked Singer after claiming she would pay £10,000 as an apology for her naughty antics.

Hammer’s ex on their ‘scary’ BDSM fling

One of Armie Hammer’s ex-lovers has claimed the Call Me By Your Name star bit her ‘all over my body’ in one ‘scary’ bedroom romp.

Model Paige Lorenze, 22, alleges he invited her to ‘high protocol nights’, which she called ‘very traditional in BDSM’.

She explained: ‘Our first high protocol night, I was in a lot of pain and it was scary.

‘He would have instruments and use his hands and bite me all over my body.’

Reps for Hammer, 34, previously said the allegations were ‘patently untrue’ and his interactions with Lorenze were ‘fully discussed’ and ‘completely consensual’.

Tattoo’s the daddy? Zayn’s tribute to daughter

That’s Khai-ly devoted! Zayn Malik is so proud of his four-month-old daughter that he will be flashing her name wherever he goes. The former 1D-er has had Khai tattooed on his wrist in Arabic script.

Fans spotted the new ink work this week after his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, 25, updated her Instagram bio to say ‘Khai’s mom’.

For Zayn’s 28th birthday this month, Gigi posted: ‘Happiest birthday to our Zaddy baba. So special… thank you for making me a mamma to the best girl ever.’
